Advanced International DiplomaDuration: A 26 week programme
Who is the course for? This course is designed for in-service Fire Officers having either completed the Foundation International Diploma or have sufficient operational experience.
Course Outline The advanced International Diploma develops competency and skills in fire and rescue situations.
The programme will consist of the following studies: - Basic Refresher
- Crew/Watch Management
- Instructor Training in HazMats
- Breathing Apparatus
- Road Traffic Collision
- Trauma and Rescue
- Marine Fire Fighting
- High Rise Buildings
- Fire Investigation
- Fire Prevention & Risk Assessment
- UK Fire Service Operational Observation
The successful completion of this programme will be followed by a passing out parade and the Diploma Award for Advanced International Fire Officer. Included will be the award of a Certificate in Management from the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). Future Development Having successfully completed the Advanced Diploma the Fire Officers may progress through the University of Central Lancashire to complete a Foundation Degree. They will be required to have a level 6 in English, this is both in spoken and written English.
Upon the successful completion of the Foundation Degree the officer then may progress to a BEng(Hons) Fire Engineering / Management or BSc(Hons) Fire Safety degree.
