The International Market

Washington Hall UK is truly an International Training Centre that is proud of its many years of experience working with over seventy countries world-wide. We have the privilege and honour of having trained and developed second and third generations of Fire Officers in many of the countries.

Washington Hall UK has established an excellent reputation and is held in great esteem for delivering quality training and developing the skills and potential of Fire Officers. Many have gone on to achieve the status of Strategic Senior Officers within their own organisations.

One of the significant markets for Washington Hall UK is the Middle East. Two very good examples of our work with organisations in the areas of the oil and gas industry and Civil Defence in the Middle East are:

RasGas Qatar

RasGas owned by Qatar Petroleum is situated on the largest offshore natural gas field in the world. They have the major responsibility of ensuring that all safety contingencies are implemented on the site.
A key element of this responsibility is held by the Emergency Response Team. Washington Hall UK has been their preferred training provider for almost ten years, developing and training their staff to the highest standards in both Qatar and at Washington Hall UK.

Through the association with UK based universities such as Lancaster and UCLan we are able to support the academic development of officers in areas such as Foundation Degree in Fire Service Management, Fire Engineering and MBA degrees.

UAE Civil Defence

Washington Hall's long-standing relationship with the Dubai Civil Defence resulted in a Memorandum of Understanding being signed between our two organisations at last year's Dubai hosted Intersec Conference.  This commitment to supporting the development and sharing best practice with the Dubai Civil Defence continues.

Abu Dhabi Civil Defence has embarked on a major development programme to ensure that they are able to meet the increased demand on their Civil Defence officers.  This includes practical development courses from both basic to advanced training.  Also, through academic development the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence has sent their officers to the UK to carry out their studies in Fire related programmes.  Such a programme is facilitated at Blackburn College where 18 Abu Dhabi Officers have undertaken a Foundation Degree in Fire Service Management validated by Lancaster University.  Washington Hall is proud to be involved in this project.

Kuwait Fire Service

Washington Hall has made a major contribution to the development of officers of all ranks within the Kuwait Fire Service.  In a recent award to Washington Hall we are proud to be involved in the further development of officers developing their operational capabilities in dealing with emergency incidents.

Bahrain Civil Defence

It is important to Washington Hall that we continue to work with Civil Defence and Fire Services that we have a long standing relationship with.  Bahrain Civil Defence is one of those organisations and Washington Hall takes great pride in supporting the ongoing development of their officers.

British Virgin Islands

Washington Hall has trained many officers from the Fire Services of the British Virgin Islands for various roles, including Incident Command, Watch and Crew Management.  This relationship continues with support not only at Washington Hall but also with training provided in-country.
