Trainee Firefighter Retained Duty System

Who is this course for?
New entrants to local authority Fire Services conditioned to work the Retained Duty System.

Course Outline
The programme covers the basic skills necessary for the delegate to become a safe and effective part of an established retained unit. Further skills are acquired during follow on training courses.

Assessment
Theoretical knowledge is assessed by an end of course examination, practical competencies are proved by continual practical assessment.

In 2009/10 Uclan will be able to provide an academic pathway for those joining the Fire Service. Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service will sponsor a number of students onto this programme during 2009.
