Who is this course for? New entrants to local authority Fire Services who are to be employed on the wholetime Duty System. Also new entrants to other Fire Services who are required to attend a local authority trainee course.
Course outline The course has been designed in order to fulfil the requirements of the (IPDS) Integrated Personal Development System phase I. The course is modular and includes: - Basic Skills
- Special Rescue
- Breathing Apparatus
- First Aid and Trauma
Benefits The course enables the delegate to acquire the knowledge, skills and understanding to enable them to become a safe and valued member of an operational crew.
Assessment Assessment is continuous throughout the course. Theoretical knowledge is assessed by a series of modular examinations. Practical skills are proved by continual practical assessment to ensure that students are competent in all safety critical aspects. Each successful delegate will also acquire IOSH 'working safely' and First Aid certificates.
